Brian Kaufman is a founding partner of Westridge Capital. Together with his partner, Jonathan Davidson, they have over 50 years of combined transactional experience in principal, agency and legal roles totaling over $8 billion dollars.
Prior to launching Westridge Capital, Brian served in a number of professional capacities in both investment banking and law including partner level positions at Montgomery & Co., where he managed both the middle market and media sectors and Imperial Capital, LLC, a Beverly Hills-based boutique investment bank, where he focused on their principal activities including leveraged buyouts and private equity investments. He also co-founded Kirkland Messina LLC, a Los Angeles-based boutique merchant bank targeting buyouts of middle market companies. Brian began his finance career at Drexel Burnham Lambert Incorporated in New York where he focused on corporate finance transactions for financial institutions. Brian was also a member of the Business and Technology group at the San Francisco law offices of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, where he advised growth technology companies and venture capital firms in public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
Brian’s numerous professional accomplishments have provided him with extensive experience in leadership, management and finance. Brian, in his capacity as equity sponsor, has also served as an executive officer for several middle market companies in both Southern California and the Midwest. In addition, Brian has been an active participant in and contributing member of numerous local charitable organizations and serves as a board member of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Brian graduated with highest honors from the University of Notre Dame, and later obtained his law degree, cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center.
Jonathan Davidson is a founding partner of Westridge Capital. Together with his partner, Brian Kaufman, they have over 50 years of combined transaction experience totaling over $8 billion dollars in principal, agency and legal roles, and have successfully invested in a range of industries including general manufacturing, consumer products and healthcare.
Prior to launching Westridge Capital, Jonathan served in a number of professional capacities in the finance industry including a partner level position at Montgomery & Co., where he co-founded the investment banking practice and managed the business & consumer services sector. He also held a senior position with Chemical Securities (now known as JPMorgan Chase), providing corporate finance and merger & acquisition advisory services to the filmed entertainment industry. Outside of the finance industry, Jonathan exhibited entrepreneurial talents as founder and Chief Financial Officer of Screenz, the developer and distributor of a private online service in the Chicago market. Through these roles and their underlying portfolio investments, Jonathan has been afforded the opportunity to serve in board and executive officer positions for companies in disparate industry sectors.
Jonathan obtained an M.B.A. with an emphasis in finance and entrepreneurship from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Anderson School of Management and holds a B.A. degree in Economics and Business from UCLA. Amongst his many charitable endeavors, Jonathan serves on the executive committee and board of directors of the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation at UCLA.
Nick Laperriere is a director of Westridge Capital. Nick joined Westridge in 2010, focusing on operations and development of new opportunities in the healthcare space.
Prior to joining Westridge Capital, Nick worked as a business development consultant for Allergan, Inc., a global multi-specialty healthcare company. Previously he was with Inamed Corporation, responsible for account management in the Pacific Northwest. Nick has worked with clients ranging from large hospital systems to small, specialty surgical practices, utilizing strategies including flow and efficiency optimization, marketing and PR, insurance contracting and reimbursement evaluation, staff training and referral network development. With many years of successful business development experience in the challenging, highly regulated healthcare space, Nick has acquired a breadth of skills broadly applicable to improving the growth and operational efficiency of middle market companies.
Nick obtained a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with honors.
